Why Monkey Pod is prized by designers.
Monkey Pod, called Cenízaro in Costa Rica and known around the world as the rain tree, grows into one of the widest canopies in the tropics. That scale yields slabs of rare width, with a grain that moves like water.
What sets it apart is contrast. Rich, chocolate-to-golden heartwood meets a pale, creamy sapwood along the natural edge, and a finished surface reveals a deep, shimmering figure that changes as the light moves across it.
